This time of night, certain Burtonian characters come out to settle disputes, every night is in a differen part of the world, and we just hapen to be in the right place this evening.
Actually, My friend challenged me to a still competition in which he tested his ever increasing skills in victorian style against my moderate skills in gothic. Instead of creepy architecture or cliche vampires, I choose to go comedic cartoonish with some of my favorite cult icons.
Vines created in IvyGenerator, Everything Else Modeled in Blender, Gimp was used to do/touch up textures. Total time spent: 20-25 hours.

This is the view from the Chair of a Doctors personal office project that I am working on. Can't give any details on the story line for the animation due to the fact that I don't like the original, and am in the process of changing it. There are things that I still need to fix in texturing, but overall I think the models are alright.

Lord & Taylor Rose

Lord and Taylor in New York held a contest for their new logo. All it had to be was a rose in any medium. This is my entry, as simplistic as it is. The day I heard about the contest, I drew this in my sketchbook. I had not drawn any rose in about 6 years, I hope it places in the top 60 (the first judging level open to the public). I had to try because the grand prize is 10K, 1 or more trips to New York and public recognition that I may be an artist. Will find out somewhere around the 2nd of july. Drawn by hand with my favorite pencil, then gimp'd to give it sharpness.

Update: Not even in the top 60. It was worth it though.

Sandworm Challenge

My friend and I had challenged each other to a 10 second animation challenge, he used 3DS and I used blender. The rule was to model a sandworm from Dune or beetlejuice and make it do something. This image is frame 65 from my video.
The video is posted @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juKFwYm9Q_A
This was my first attempt at modelling and animating any type of character. Comment are very welcome.
